BangZ Salon & Spa was established in 1994 at the heart of the popular Montclair shopping and restaurant district.  Since opening BangZ has established the standard for the beauty and wellness needs of New Jersey and serves the greater tri-state metropolitan area.  BangZ has grown from 15 employees at its conception to our current staff of over 70.  The three floor salon boasts 25 foot ceilings, 28 hair stations, eight nail and pedicure stations, three massage rooms, two facial rooms, hydrotherapy facilities, and windows that provide a view of the surrounding area from anywhere in the salon and spa.

BangZ Salon & Spa also plays a key role in the surrounding Essex county community.  Hosting charity events such as cut-a-thons for the ARC of New Jersey, The United States Cancer Association, Mothers with Disabled Children, and P.A.W.S., we always strive to increase our participation beyond the haircare domain.  Another example is our unique internship program, which offers high school students interested in the beauty industry a chance to “test the waters.” We also provide bi-weekly classes on cutting, coloring, make-up, and customer service for our younger students.

Hair Stylists, Nail Artists and Aestheticians rely on high-performance products to achieve and support a variety of looks and treatments. At BANGZ, we believe in our client's right to the same opportunity. That's why we are proud to introduce "The Client's Right to Know Guarantee" which takes our commitment to an even higher level. It is our policy that, beginning with the consultation and continuing throughout their visit, our clients will be informed on the products and treatments that they experience each step of their service. It is an artist's responsibility to see that both themselves and their assistant fulfill this policy. As part of The Client's Right to Know Guarantee, the artist should also give each client a recommendation for support products based on their consultation, If this policy is not fulfilled, the client will receive free hair care products on the spot, which will be deducted from the artist's commission.

BangZ Salon & Spa considers children to be of or under the age of twelve.  We have taken extra steps to ensure the safety and comfort of your little ones in the hair salon.  To guarantee the tranquility of our Spa clients, children must remain supervised at all times and are not allowed into the Spa treatment areas.  For more information regarding children’s services, please visit our Hair Services page.

All salon and spa appointments can be scheduled by phone or in person at the front desk.  Your appointment time is determined strictly according to the services requested.  Be assured that this includes an adequate amount of time for a personalized consultation with your stylist.  Please help us to provide our clients with a no-wait experience by being on time to your appointment. We suggest that you arrive fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.

We have a 24-hour Cancellation Policy for all spa services and chemical hair services. A credit card must be presented when booking these appointments.  Same day cancellations and no shows are charged 50% of the services. Twenty-four hour cancellation notice must be given in order to avoid a penalty

To reward our stylists for improving their skills, BangZ Salon and Spa employs the European Level System of pricing for hair services. In this system, as stylists improve their skills through continuing education, we reward them by allowing them to charge higher prices. It is a great way to control both the level of experience you require and the amount you desire to spend!

BangZ Salon & Spa accepts cash, personal checks, traveler’s checks, and all major credit and debit cards.

Gratuities cannot be added to credit card or debit card bills.  Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for gratuitous purposes.  An ATM is available for your convenience at the front desk.  Checks, however, can be written for up to 20% over your total bill to include gratuities.
